Animal Model R&D Platform
Gene Editing Animal Model R&D Platform is mainly engaged in the research and development of genetically modified(GM) resources to service for life medical research. Much of the facility's capacity is devoted to the generation of GM animal models and cell lines, cryopreservation of the animals’ sperms and embryos resources, rederivation, auxiliary reproductive technology and development of reagents.
We always provide the highest quality GM resources and services by utilizing the excellent talents, sophisticated equipment and extensive experience. The platform has unique advantages in genome editing, and our technology has reached the level comparable to the cutting-edge technology in the world. We have successfully generated multiple GM animal models and cell lines. Some of the models we created included: constitutive and conditional (loxP) knockout models, knock-in models (point mutations, cDNAs, reporter genes, tags, etc) and targeted transgenic models. Now our platform is also committed to the research on large GM animal models such as pigs and monkeys. Our platform has a mature and stable technology on cryopreservation and recovery of germplasms, and has preserved more than 900 types of frozen sperms and embryos.
